The Meditations:

These are Meditations on a set of the Corkscrews. They are as close as I have come to a sublime wittiness–not all of them but a few. Most of them are for dark, rainy nights. A few of them are for when the sun is in your eyes.

It's a little hard to give advice about reading the meditations. I was going to select a few to give you a taste of them but looking at my copy the sample I would have picked starts with the first and ends with the fifth. So you might as well start at the beginning and go as far as my cleverness and sensibility can carry you.

There are a few that I am particularly fond of beside the first 5 or so: I particularly like Meditations 3 and 7.

In a pinch you can use a hammer as a screwdriver, but only once per screw
is about as smart assed as you can get and still put your shoes on in the morning.
